About ResumeWriters...
Pricing Points, Fast Facts, BBB, Complaints

From it's inception in the late 90s, ResumeWriters.com has arguably become the largest resume writing company in the world. The company's primary pitch goes like this: because their network of writers is so extensive and draws on such a diverse industry background ("more than 5 dozen career fields and industries"), they're best able to match you with the most qualified writer -- based on your career field.

I'd say there's value in that argument. It's always a plus to have a writer on your side who's not only certified in the resume profession, but also had direct experience in the same industry/profession as the client he's trying to serve.

What I Liked (the Pros)

Writers are nationally certified, and hail from diverse backgrounds. The company recruits writing candidates who can first meet the standards of the Professional Association of Resume Writers. Then, all candidates are put through an in-house training and apprenticeship program.
The service is consultative and one-on-one, as it should be. Your writer is in contact with you and consults directly with you; gathering any additional information and planning the resume project in concert with your goals.
Sample resumes are plentiful on their site. And the writing quality is quite good. Excellent layouts, good use of bullet points and design elements.
I like their "100% Success Guarantee." Basically, it states that if you haven't received an interview within 60 days of your new resume, simply contact them and they'll arrange a re-write free of charge.

One-stop shop. Get every job search document you'll likely ever need, from e-resumes and scannable resumes, to cover letters and interview follow-up letters. In addition, they offer resume consultation and coaching, editing, resume distribution, and LinkedIn profile development.

Rush service is available (for an extra fee, of course).

What I Didn't Like (the Cons)

Nothing to report at this time.

Review Summary and Recommendation

The huge number of writers at their disposal means they have the ability to better match you with a seasoned pro from a similar occupational or industry background. Samples posted on their site show top notch writing and a command of contemporary formatting and design. The kicker? Zero Internet complaints on the two most notable forums for such things. And this after a decade in the business.

No tossing and turning over this one; I sleep peacefully at night recommending...

Company claims that in the past 6 years, since offering a 60-day interview guarantee, they've have had only 21 requests for rewrites. Punching the numbers, that equates to a 99.99% success rate of clients landing interviews after using their services.

Complaints:
The number of complaints filed with the BBB "for a business of this size" was below average (specifically, 2 in the past three years). That fact, coupled to the company's response to those complaints, contributes toward the company's high rating.
Zero complaints posted on Internet forums, which is unusual. So unusual, that we conducted a search of the company's name at two of the more popular consumer complaints websites: RipOffReport.com and ComplaintsBoard.com. Nothing came back.
