About Employment 911...
Pricing Points, Fast Facts, BBB, Complaints

Billing itself as a "premier provider of solutions" for job seekers, recruiters and employers, Employment 911 offers a resume writing service as one of those solutions.

The company promotes a rare "money-back" guarantee of interviews, as opposed to a number of other services that only offer re-writes of your resume if it fails to garner an interview. Of course, there are strings attached.

What I Liked (the Pros)

Prices are pretty reasonable. And the price includes a cover letter, a "thank you" letter, and formatting in both MS WORD as well as plain text.

As per the company, all writers are "certified through PARW, CPRW or NARW." BTW, those acronyms stand for The Professional Association of Resume Writers, Certified Professional Résumé Writer (the credentials awarded by PARW), and The National Resume Writers' Association.

The guarantee sounds enticing. All your money back if the resume they prepare doesn't generate interviews. Here are the specifics: If after using your new resume for 6 weeks you aren't "getting more job interviews," you must first submit your request for a rewrite (which the company will do free of charge). This re-write is required, or your guarantee is null and void. So, with re-write in hand, you've got 120 days to continue searching for a job. If at the end of that time you feel your re-written resume still isn't helping in that search, they'll refund your money.

Add-on services are convenient to order; resume posting and email blasting are integrated into the site.
Same-day delivery is available; receive your resume in as little as 6 hours.

What I Didn't Like (the Cons)

There is no consultative telephone interview.
Make sure you're not going to have second thoughts after placing your order, as the company has a "No Cancellations" policy. That said, you can always request a rewrite and a refund as per their terms of use.

Review Summary and Recommendation

I want to like this company, I really do. They've been in business a lifetime (for internet standards), the President is free and open with his name (it's Jake Fannin, by the way), and who doesn't like their money back if a product doesn't perform?

Sadly, they don't make it easy for me to like them. They offer no sample resumes in which to judge their writers' abilities. And there is no consultative telephone interview.

Still, complaints are addressed and resolved, and the BBB sees fit to give them an "A-" rating. That's certainly good. I come down neutral with this firm. To explore further, here's the link to the company's website...

Complaints:

There were 7 complaints filed and closed with the BBB in the past three years. The majority of complaints centered around "Advertising/Sales issues" and "Billing and Collection." The number of complaints were high enough to be a factor in lowering the rating of the company.

In the interest of fairness, the company's response/resolution to those 7 complaints, coupled with the longevity of the business, contributed to raising the rating of the firm.

A few complaints have been posted on Internet forums. Typical is a 2011 complaint regarding their resume distribution service as posted on RippoffReport.com. Note: this complaint has nothing to do with their resume writing business.
