About Resume2Hire.com...
Pricing Points, Fast Facts, BBB, Complaints

A relative newcomer, Resume2Hire.com is offering you either the bargain of the day, or a resume that's not worth the email attachment it's printed on. Which is it?

What I Liked (the Pros)

Samples on the company website look better than I would have expected at this price point.
LinkedIn Profile Makeover Service is available.
Rush service is available (for an additional fee).

What I Didn't Like (the Cons)

The Better Business Bureau saw fit to drop this company's rating from an acceptable B+ to an F (see update below). Reading over the complaints posted on the BBB's site, there appears to be ongoing issues with writing quality, timeliness, and customer service in general (a number of complaints never even generated a response from company management).

Update: As of August 16, 2017, the BBB score is B.

You'll need to move on the guarantee. The company guarantees your satisfaction with the finished product, and includes this statement on their home page: "This means unlimited revisions until you are 100% satisfied." In actuality, after reading their TOS (Terms Of Service) you've got 7 days after you've received your revised resume to initiate any further revisions.

Go beyond the 7 days, and expect to be billed for editing services at the rate of $50 per hour.

Contact information could be made more accessible. The company's "contact" page is set up for email and instant messaging. I'm fine with that, but I would also like to see a phone number and a mailing address. The latter helps provide at least a modicum of security to users that the company they're dealing with has an established, physical location and not operating out of a hotel room in Bangkok.

Update: As of August 16, 2017 the company has removed their "contact" page entirely. Having looked over the website with a fine-tooth comb, there appears absolutely no way to contact the company by any means whatsoever. This is not a good sign.

Review Summary and Recommendation

So, is Resume2Hire.com cranking out worthy resumes at a most reasonable price? The answer is an unequivocal... maybe not.

Those who have read my reviews know that I'm an advocate of resume writers conducting consultative interviews with their clients prior to crafting the resume. An interview is the best way to gather the nuanced information that will -- in the hands of a pro writer -- deliver a resume that propels the candidate above the competition.

But beyond the lack of nuanced data gathering, this company has a level of customer complaints that is simply unacceptable (read about it in the sidebar to the right). In fact, this is from the BBB's website: "A number of consumers are reporting the they received unsatisfactory finished products provided by the company (resume, cover letter) which contain some or all of the following: grammatical or punctuation errors; insufficient job history or descriptions; inconsistent format."

With the recent change in company ownership, BBB ratings roller-coasting between F and B, and more dissatisfied customers than I've see at any other similar outfit, I am unable to recommend this company.

The following link is provided in case you want to verify for yourself, but until they permanently address the ongoing issues regarding product quality and customer service, I recommend avoiding...

Fast Facts:
Company founded April 18, 2011.

Parent company: Talent Inc.

Resume2Hire was one of seven consumer brands operating under the umbrella of RezBiz LLC, founded in 2011 by Ms. Jaime Cooper and Todd Goldstein. Among the seven:

-- Jaime Cooper Consulting
-- JC Resumes
-- Reszoome.com
-- Back Bay Search, Inc. (Managing Partner)

Talent Inc. acquired the assets of RezBiz on July 9, 2014. In addition to new acquisition RezBiz (and Resume2Hire), Talent Inc. also operates:

-- topresume.com
-- guaranteedresumes.net

Note: Jaime Cooper (J. Melissa Cooper on her Linkedin Page) is an Executive Recruiter and Certified Professional Resume Writer (CPRW). Degree of her involvement in the day-to-day operations of Resume2Hire is unknown.

Contact Information (on file with the BBB):

4001 Santa Barbara Boulevard, Naples, FL 34104-8808

Operates via a "team of writers." No way to tell if those writers are in-house or a network of independent contractors.

Better Business Bureau:
"B+" on a scale of A+ to F.

The company is not BBB Accredited.

Sidebar: The recent acquisition of the company by Talent Inc. didn't improve the overall net rating. Talent, by the way, has held BBB ratings ranging from A to F.

Complaints:

Resume2Hire.com - The number of complaints filed with the BBB "for a business of this size" was comparatively heavy (21 complaints in the past 3 years). The length of time the company has taken to respond to those complaints contributed to the lowered rating.

The majority of complaints on the BBB site have to do with Product/Service. One particular customer complaint posted on 10/13/2014 begins like this: "I received my resume and cover letter with minimal revisions. More disturbing was the MULTIPLE spelling and grammatical errors that all were in red when I opened the document."

It's worth noting that the company offered a full refund in this case, and the customer found that acceptable.

TopResume.com - This is the company that's actually writing your resume. They're the principle operating company for Talent, Inc. Sign up for a resume through Resume2Hire, and you're immediately funneled over to TopResume.com.

And complaints? Many and growing. The BBB reports 120 complaints in the last 3 years, with 53 of those coming in during just the past year. Also on the BBB website: "BBB files indicate a pattern of complaints concerning fulfillment of service and customer assistance for Top Resume."

As of August 16, 2017, there were 14 customer complaints posted on the Internet forum Ripoffreport.com for TopResume.com.

One recent complaint is titled: "Not What I Ordered, No Refund, Takes Your Money."
